Newfound Genomics employs a team of 10 highly qualified individuals at its offices in St. John's. This team is supported by, and works in collaboration with a clinical network of 35 physicians throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, which is further supported by a dedicated group of 20 clinical nurses and technologists.

Ms. Siobhan Coady APR President and Chief Executive Officer Siobhan has an outstanding track record in business management and public relations utilizing her comprehensive understanding of business policy, issues management and media relations. Siobhan is recognized in both public and private sectors in Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as nationally, for her business management and public relations skills. She was Vice President, Newfoundland, of Corporate Communications Limited, a national strategic communications company and the senior executive responsible for public affairs and marketing with the largest credit union in Atlantic Canada. She is equally well known for her wide range of volunteer activities including the St. John's Board of Trade, past Chair of the regional economic development board and the Newfoundland and Labrador Business Hall of Fame. Currently, Siobhan uses her comprehensive understanding of business policy, issues management and media relations in her position of Chair of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, which represents the national interests of over 170,000 businesses in Canada. She is an accredited public relations professional and an alumnus of Memorial University of Newfoundland. She is also President of Bonaventure Fisheries, a privately held fish harvesting company.
Dr. Proton Rahman - Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Proton Rahman is a Newfoundlander who received his MD from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1990 and his MSc in Genetic Epidemiology from the University of Toronto in 1999. He specializes in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, and is Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, Memorial University of Newfoundland and Staff Rheumatologist, St. Clare's Mercy Hospital. He has received numerous awards of distinction and research grants, has published numerous scientific articles and has conducted research on the population genetics of Newfoundland and Labrador and most recently, has identified a gene related to psoriatic arthritis.
Hilary M. Vavasour, RN, RSCN, SCM, Director Corporate Services Hilary received her RN in Edinburgh, Scotland and her Sick Children's Nurse (RSCN) and State Midwife (SCM) certifications in London, England. A long-time resident of Newfoundland, Hilary brings over 30 years of clinical research and general experience in clinical genetics, human health, and people management. She has co-authored 18 articles and numerous abstracts.
Lynette Peddle BSc. - Laboratory Supervisor Lynette graduated from Memorial University with a BSc in Biochemistry and a minor in Chemistry with selected courses in Newfoundland studies. Since completing her degree, she has been employed in the biotechnology industry where she has gained valuable experience in cell culture, chemiluminescence protein detection, and genetic testing. She has carried out paternity testing via HLA, Red Blood Cell and DNA typing for over 300 families.
William Melay, B.Sc., D.I.T. - Programmer Analyst William graduated from Memorial University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and completed graduate studies in a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma program in Information Technology, also through Memorial. William’s background and experience in the sciences, knowledge of laboratory practices and procedures, computer networks, statistics and database development/management makes him an invaluable asset to Newfound Genomics.
